Champagne Esterlin Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2008 Magnum
Champagne Esterlin is a name synonymous with elegance and tradition in the world of sparkling wines. Located in Épernay, on the famous Avenue de Champagne, the house Esterlin is a well-established wine cooperative whose adventure began in February 1947 when three winegrowers, Fransoret, Dehu, and Cadestin, decided to join forces to produce Champagne.
Initially, there were 29 members on a total surface of 23 hectares. The cooperative has grown considerably and developed on the famous Coteaux du Sezannais and Vallée de la Marne in the southern part of Epernay. Seventy years later, the Esterlin house covers 116 hectares over 52 villages and relies on 200 winegrowers who give their best to cultivate and harvest quality grapes in the vineyards.
The Esterlin House embodies Champagne excellence through production methods that respect the terroir and traditional techniques. For several years, Champagne Esterlin has been involved in strict environmental protection. 8,4 hectares are organic or in conversion to organic, and nearly 50% of the surfaces are certified HVE “High-Value Environmental” and VDC “Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne.”
Esterlin’s philosophy is based on a rigorous selection of grapes. Esterlin Blanc de Blancs is composed exclusively of Chardonnay (100%) and is made without Malolactic fermentation to preserve the freshness and complexity of aromas. Esterlin House practices fermentation at 16 degrees Fahrenheit. They stop the second fermentation to preserve the original acidity and freshness of the wine.
Esterlin Blanc de Blancs stands out due to the richness of its terroir, which includes clay and limestone soils, which provide a wide range of colors and create exceptional wine blends. Each bottle reflects the perfect blend of viticultural tradition. This champagne reveals great delicacy, mature aromas, silky texture, and intense freshness. It has excellent aging potential while preserving the roundness and freshness of citrus and yellow fruits.
This 2008 vintage boasts a golden yellow color with lots of small bubbles. On the palate, it is notable for its remarkable finesse and minerality, delicate floral notes, and exuding aromas of juicy fruit such as apple, pear, white peach, and citrus.
