Champagne Esterlin Brut Nature 2009
Champagne Esterlin is a name synonymous with elegance and tradition in the world of sparkling wines. Located in Épernay, on the famous Avenue de Champagne, the house Esterlin is a well-established wine cooperative whose adventure began in February 1947 when three winegrowers, Fransoret, Dehu, and Cadestin, decided to join forces to produce Champagne.
Initially, there were 29 members on a total surface of 23 hectares. The cooperative has grown considerably and developed on the famous Coteaux du Sezannais and Vallée de la Marne in southern Epernay. 70 years later, The Esterlin house covers 116 hectares over 52 villages and relies on 200 winegrowers who give their best to cultivate and harvest quality grapes over the vineyards.
The Esterlin House embodies Champagne excellence through production methods that respect the terroir and traditional techniques. For several years, Champagne Esterlin has been involved in strict environmental protection. 8,4 hectares are organic or in conversion to organic, and nearly 50% of the surfaces are certified HVE “High-Value Environmental” and VDC “Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne”.
Esterlin’s philosophy is based on a rigorous selection of grapes. Esterlin Brut Nature is a blend of 42% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir and 38% Pinot Meunier. Esterlin Brut Nature is made without Malolactic fermentation to preserve the freshness and complexity of aromas.
This Cuvee Esterlin Brut Nature has a golden color with bright reflections. Its robe is clear and luminous. The bouquet is a complex and refined feature of ripe fruits such as apple and pear with some notes of hazelnut and almond. On the palate, it is lively and mineral with marked acidity that brings a delightful freshness and gives a beautiful volume and a silky texture.
Esterlin Brut Nature 2009 is a very good vintage, distinguished by the purity and complexity of the aromas, and good grape health contributed to the overall quality. This cuvee presents a pale and translucent gold hue. On the palate, it reflects an exceptional combination of freshness and finesse marked by aromas of fresh apricot, apple, lemon, and brioche with a mineral touch.
