Premier Grand Cru Classé B

Premier Grand Cru Classé B is the senior tier of Saint-Émilion's Premiers Grands Crus Classés, sitting just below the elite "A" estates and above the Grands Crus Classés. It gathers many of the appellation's most historic and admired properties, drawn from both the limestone plateau around the town and the gravelly slopes toward Pomerol.

The roll includes such celebrated names as Château Canon, Château Beau-Séjour Bécot, Château Bélair-Monange, Château Canon la Gaffelière, Château Clos Fourtet, Château La Gaffelière, Château Larcis Ducasse, Château Pavie Macquin, Château Troplong Mondot, and Château Trottevieille.

Merlot-led and married with Cabernet Franc, these wines marry the plush, generous fruit of the Right Bank with the freshness and finesse that Saint-Émilion's limestone confers — serious, ageworthy bottles that frequently rival the very top of the appellation.
