Domaine Guillot-Broux is a family-owned proporty that has been consistently farming in an organic fashion since the beginning. The domaine has been certified organic since 1991, definitely one of the pioneers in the move to go organic. The current owners like to tell how their grandfather started the first organic vineyard in Burgundy in 1954, when the rest of the world was still enamored with the promises of fertilizers and pesticides before the side effects of additives started ruining the vines.
The vines used for the cuvée La Myotte were planted in 1956, 62 years of age and counting. The owners describe this wine as "noble, yet capricious". It is only bottled in excellent vintages.
The cuvée La Myotte Vieilles Vignes is made from the older vines of the plot, only available in exceptional vintages when the old vines produce enough grapes. This is the best wine the domaine has to offer.
