Palette

Palette is one of France's smallest and most singular appellations, a tiny enclave just east of Aix-en-Provence covering only a few dozen hectares. Despite its size, it enjoys a reputation out of all proportion to its scale.

The appellation is dominated by a single historic estate, Château Simone, whose vines grow on cool, north-facing limestone slopes shaded by old forest. Palette is unusual in Provence for crafting serious, age-worthy wines in all three colours — red, white, and rosé — from a rich palette of traditional southern varieties, many of them ancient.

Complex, distinctive, and built to last, the wines of Palette are among the most characterful and collectable in all of Provence.
