Provence

Provence, in the sun-drenched southeast of France, is most famous as the world's spiritual home of dry rosé — pale, crisp, and elegant pink wines, led by the Côtes de Provence, that have become synonymous with Mediterranean living.

But the region is far more than rosé. The coastal appellation of Bandol produces some of France's most characterful and ageworthy reds from the Mourvèdre grape, while tiny enclaves such as Palette craft distinctive reds, whites, and rosés from old vines and traditional varieties.
